DNA-templated copper nanoclusters (DNA-CuNCs) are versatile nanomaterials with remarkable properties: low cost, low toxicity, biocompatibility, Mega-Stokes shifts, and utility in label-free assays. Designing new sensing strategies requires understanding existing approaches.
