Intelligent nanoagents, carriers and receptors for diagnostics and therapy
Abstract of the PhD project:
My PhD research project will focus on the development and characterization of intelligent nanoagents, carriers and receptors for diagnostics and therapy. Nanotechnological products are rapidly emerging as effective tools for innovative therapeutic and diagnostic approaches in a multitude of widespread diseases and for improving the efficacy and the safety of conventional drug delivery systems. The nanotechnological products will be tested on in vitro, ex vivo or in vivo models of different diseases (lung and ocular pathologies) to achieve a predictive profile of safety, biocompatibility and efficacy, and to obtain preliminary data on the pharmacokinetic profile.
