Sustainable development of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients API: Ecological transition as an opportunity for innovation and competitiveness of the production system
Abstract of the PhD project:
The ecological transition is one of the challenges that chemists are called upon to address; the need for more sustainable and efficient processes in the synthesis of pharmaceutical Active Ingredients (APIs) both organic and inorganic is a crucial point for the transition to the circular economy and to achieving the goal of a climate-neutral Europe for 2050. This research project is based on two paths: rethinking synthetic pathways for already known APIs and the synthesis of novel APIs following the principles of green chemistry.
