Targeting Nuclear Receptors for Therapeutic Modulation in Neurodegeneration and Cancer
Abstract of the PhD project:
This project seeks to design innovative multitarget ligands that selectively modulate PPAR–RXR heterodimers, with the goal of developing effective therapeutic strategies for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Combining AI-driven design and scaffold repurposing, compounds will be synthesized, biophysically characterized, and biologically evaluated in vitro and in vivo (C. elegans) for efficacy and safety, guiding lead selection and preclinical development.
