Signalling pathways for molecular target identification in neurodegenerative disease
Abstract of the PhD project:
Neurodegenerative disorders lead to progressive neuronal damage, so they are a serious health threat. This PhD project focuses on the identification and study of novel molecular targets which could act to rescue altered signalling pathways in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly in Alzheimer’s disease. The two main aims of the project are: the development and characterization of in vitro cellular models of neurodegeneration, including genetically modified models, and the evaluation in these cellular models of molecular targets of interest.
